About Central Festival Chiang Mai
Central Festival Chiang Mai opened on 15 November 2013 on the Superhighway in Fa Ham, about 4 km north-east of the Old City. Its developer, Central Pattana, now calls it Central Chiangmai, while the department store inside keeps the Central Festival name, and most people still use both.
It is a very large mall: a gross floor area of 250,000 square metres on 70 rai of land, with about 250 shops, Central Department Store, a Central Food Hall, and a Major Cineplex with an IMAX theatre. There is free Wi-Fi throughout, a VAT-refund counter for visitors, and parking for about 2,000 cars.
For homes in Fa Ham, Nong Pa Khrang and along the Superhighway it is the mall nearby; from Nimman it is a drive across town.
