Privacy at Chiang Mai Property

This page describes what we actually hold, where it is stored and how to reach us about it. It is written from the database and the code, not from a template, so it is shorter than most policies and every sentence in it is something the product does today.

Reaching us

For anything about your personal data — to see it, correct it, or have it deleted — write to privacy@chiangmai-property.com. We answer within 30 days.

Chiang Mai Property, 432, 9 Chiangmailand Rd, Tambon Chang Khlan, Mueang, Chiang Mai 50100, Thailand.

If you only browse

Browsing does not create an account. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which of our pages you open, through a cookie on your device; Google processes this for us, possibly outside Thailand, and it is never linked to your name. If you choose necessary cookies only, it does not run. We run no advertising trackers on these pages. Maps are served by Google Maps and images through a content delivery network, so those providers see the request your browser makes to them, including your IP address.

When you tap a button that opens LINE, WhatsApp, Messenger, KakaoTalk, WeChat, a call or an email to us, we note the tap: the page, the way you chose, the language and where your visit came from (the first page you opened, the site that sent you and the campaign tags in its link). The note holds nothing that identifies you.

If you write a review

The review form asks for your email address and keeps it with the review. We use it to tell one review from another and to contact you about what you wrote. It is not published beside your review.

If you send an enquiry

An enquiry sends us your name, how to reach you and your message, and we pass them to the agent or owner of the home. With it we keep a few facts about how it was sent: the approximate place of your connection (country and city), your device and browser, which form you used and how long it took, how many of our pages you opened before it and where your visit came from. We do not keep your IP address, only a scrambled code made from it, so we can recognise repeated or automated sending. We use these facts to protect you and the people you write to from spam and fraud, and we delete them after 180 days.

An owner's request from our owner page (sell, rent out or have a property managed) sends us your name, one way to reach you and what you told us about the property. We use it only to call you back about that property, it goes to our own team and not to any agent, and it keeps the same facts about how it was sent as an enquiry above, except that it never records your IP address in any form. Google's click id travels with it only if you allowed advertising cookies.

If you have an account

We hold the email address you signed up with, the role you chose (renter or buyer, agent, or owner), and anything you save while signed in — favourites, saved searches and enquiries you send to agents. Agents and agencies additionally hold a professional profile and any verification documents they upload.

Identity documents, for immigration reporting only

Thailand requires the occupier of a residence to report a foreign guest to immigration. Where we file that report on a landlord’s behalf, we hold what the filing needs: name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and, temporarily, an image of the passport page. Visa details are held where a tenancy needs them.

The passport image is deleted automatically. Once a report is filed the image is marked for deletion after 24 hours, and a job that runs once a day removes the file. Nothing else in the product deletes itself on a timer, so this is the only retention period we state.

These documents are reachable only by the agency acting for the property. They are never part of a public page.

People who have never used this site

Some property listings reach us from public posts elsewhere. Where a post names the person offering the property, we keep what identifies the source of the listing so we can attribute it and answer questions about where it came from. That means we may hold a small amount of information about you even though you have never visited or signed up.

If that is you, write to privacy@chiangmai-property.com and we will remove it.

Where it is stored

Our database and files are hosted with Supabase in Tokyo, Japan. The site itself is served from Singapore by Vercel. Images are delivered through a content delivery network. Uploaded documents sit in private storage that is not reachable by a public link.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to us holding it. Write to privacy@chiangmai-property.com. We answer within 30 days, and we do not charge for it.

Changes

This page changes when the product does. It was last changed on 23 October 2026, when a tap on a way to reach us began to note where the visit came from.

Necessary cookies keep you signed in and remember your language — these are always on. Accepting also turns on analytics, which show us through Google Analytics which pages people actually use, and advertising cookies, which let Google and Meta recognise you across sites.

Analytics data is processed for us by Google, which may do so outside Thailand, and is never linked to your name. Advertising data is disclosed to Google and Meta, who process it outside Thailand.
