Chiang Mai International School (CMIS) is the oldest international school in Northern Thailand, founded in 1954 originally to serve missionary families. Today it is a fully accredited American-curriculum school (WASC and NEASC) with approximately 400 students from 30+ nationalities.
The campus sits in Santitham, just north of Nimman, making it walkable from most of the central expat neighborhoods. CMIS offers a K-12 American curriculum including Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and its graduates regularly attend top US universities. Tuition ranges from approximately ฿300,000 to ฿700,000 per year.
CMIS maintains its Christian heritage through values-based education while welcoming students from all faith backgrounds. It is the most popular international school choice for families living in Nimman, Santitham, Chang Phueak, and the Old City.
