Prem Tinsulanonda International School (commonly "Prem") is Chiang Mai's flagship international school, offering the full IB (International Baccalaureate) continuum — Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programme. Founded in 2001 and situated on a 90-hectare campus in Mae Rim just north of the city, Prem serves approximately 550 students across nursery through grade 12 from over 40 nationalities.
The school is one of only a handful in Southeast Asia offering full five-day boarding alongside day enrollment. The IB Diploma Programme has produced university placements at Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford, MIT, and top Asian universities. Tuition ranges from approximately ฿400,000 to ฿900,000 per year depending on grade level, with additional boarding fees.
Prem is particularly popular with Korean, Chinese, European, and American expat families, and is the primary reason many choose to settle in Mae Rim and Hang Dong districts.
