The area mixes retiree villas, organic farms, eco-resorts and a handful of moo baans for expat families, some with children at Prem Tinsulanonda International School in Huai Sai. Typical asking rent for a house here was ฿29,000 a month (property portals, April to August 2026).

The trade-off is isolation. You need a car, the city is 25-30 minutes away, and the internet line is worth checking at the exact house before you sign. If you're a digital nomad who needs coworking and cafe culture, this is the wrong neighborhood. If you want mountain views, forest and quiet, Mae Rim is worth a look.
