Chiang Mai Ram Hospital

Chiangmai Ram Hospital stands on Bunruangrit Road, just outside the Old City's west moat near its north-west corner, a short ride from Nimman, Santitham and the Old City. It belongs to the Ramkhamhaeng hospital group, opened in 1993 and has about 200 beds.

In November 2009 it received Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, and it describes itself as the first internationally accredited hospital in northern Thailand. Its emergency centre is open 24 hours a day, and its international patient service centre books medical interpreters in English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Burmese and Korean.

The hospital names the international insurers it works with, among them Cigna, Pacific Cross, April, Henner, International SOS, AXA Assistance, Allianz Ayudhya and AIA. Ask your insurer whether it pays the hospital directly.
