Central Festival Chiang Mai is the largest shopping mall in Northern Thailand, a 250,000 sqm facility on the Superhighway in San Sai district. Opened in 2013 by Central Group (Thailand's largest retail conglomerate), it contains over 400 stores, an ice skating rink, a 15-screen cinema, a large food court, and anchor tenants including Tops Market, Robinson, Zara, and Uniqlo.
For expats living in San Sai or the Doi Saket direction, Central Festival is the primary shopping destination. It's also the most-visited mall for families and Korean shoppers, partly because it's the largest and partly because it sits close to Nakornpayap International School (NIS).
